It’s Wednesday, so it’s time to see what app and game Google have discounted this week in their very welcome App and Game Deal of the Week promotion. This week we have a very decent app in Manual Camera and if you’re into sheep (Hello New Zealanders) then you’ll love Clouds & Sheep 2 Premium.
App Deal of the Week
Manual Camera
Kicking off this weeks deals is an app I’ve owned since it was first released: Manual Camera. It’s pertinent to point out that Manual Camera requires Android 5.0 + on your phone or tablet to work as it uses the new Camera API2 for Lollipop and above – indeed the developer has even provided a standalone compatability app for you to check if your phone is compatible before purchasing – but at $0.20 just buy it for some other phone you get later.
Manual Camera is a fantastic app if your phone supports the new API giving you control over almost all aspects of your camera, including shutter speed, focus distance, ISO settings, white balance and exposure compensation. If all that sounds scary, it’s Ok, the app starts in Auto Mode and you can adjust your settings, getting to know what each does as you go.
Manual Camera has support for RAW support for the serious photogs to later edit their pics, as well as offering the usual Timer, GEO Tagging, Grid overlay on the screen and you can also turn the sounds on/off and change the max screen brightness.
Manual Camera is definitely worth your $0.20 even if your current phone doesn’t support it, you never know down the track which phone you’ll get that you’ll want better software on.
Game Deal of the Week
Clouds & Sheep 2 Premium
Well, if you like sheep this game is for you. You’re essentially playing the part of an all controlling shepherd with control of the weather and environment for your flock with the aim of creating a happy flock of sheep.
The game is ad-free, but is Freemium! with In-app Products available from between $5.99 – $109.99 per item – an almost instant kiss of death for a lot of people looking for a game. That said, it appears the IAP is for the more premium articles in the game, but I haven’t played it for more than a couple of minutes.
The trailer looks cutesey and if this is your thing head over and grab it, but I wouldn’t hand this off to your child without the correct Google Play password protection in place. Check out the trailer and if it’s what you’ve been searching for, head over to Google Play and grab it now:
So that’s it for another week, the Deals of the Week continue; join us next week for another round and don’t forget to grab your favourite deal – come-on $0.20 is a steal – catch them all!
Does the camera app you use affect the quality of the photos? I’ve just bought a Nexus 5X which has great camera reviews. If I use this app might the image quality be affected?
