With Google adding Star Wars promotional content on several its services and it seems this has extended to animations and overlays on their crowd-sourced navigation app Waze. Waze has joined in with the Star Wars theming going on with other Google services, with the company adding Star Wars content, including a C-3PO voice for voice navigation, a handy resource when travelling as he is of course “fluent in over six million forms of communication,”. C-3PO will lead drivers where they need to go while hunting down both BB-8 and R2-D2.

If you choose to use the Star Wars content on your Waze map, the content includes TIE fighters, lightsabers, and stormtroopers scattered around, whilst the BB-8 and R2-D2 emblems are somewhat very rare and once found and caught, are worth extra points. You can also hear an example of C-3PO’s voice and all the Star Wars content available via this link.

The new Star Wars content for Waze is available for both Android and iOS app users. To switch on this content, you will need to download the app to your smartphone and once installed, you will need to open the menu and go into Settings. Once you have done that, you will need to select “Sound”, then “Voice Language” where you can then select the C-3PO navigation voice.

If you would also like to have the Road Goodies, you’ll need to join the “Force Awakens” team by going into Menu, then “My Waze”, followed by “Teams” and then “The Force Awakens.” If you haven’t downloaded Waze, you can do so by hitting the Play board link below.
