In Twitters ever evolving race to introduce more features and usability into their users timelines, they’ve introduced a new ‘audio card’ which will let users discover new music thanks to 30-second audio snippets powered by music streaming service Spotify.
The tracks are being featured within Twitter itself as well as in the Moments feature, with up to 30-seconds of audio able to be played in the new cards. You can listen to the audio directly in-line so you don’t lose your place in the Twitter stream.
Twitter is introducing the cards based on their audience’s preferences, basically the three most followed people on Twitter are musicians – Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift – and sharing music is what they’re about.
You can see the Twitter cards live in the Twitter timeline now, but it seems it’s a bit hit and miss for some people. Here’s a working example from @spotify themselves :
