If you are one of the Android users who uses an Exchange E-mail account with your device, you were probably happy with Google’s announcement of full Exchange support in Gmail. Prior to this update, getting Exchange to work on some devices required a little hackery.
Unfortunately, a few updates ago some users (myself included) started to experience massive battery drain when using an Exchange account on Gmail. Changing the Sync frequency to 15 minutes instead of Push fixed the battery drain issue but then “slowed” down your emails. Jump forward 2 updates and a few weeks and today’s 6.4.123xxx update seems to have fixed the battery drain issues.
As you can see battery drain performance is right back where it should be following today’s update. If you’ve been experiencing poor battery life with Exchange and Gmail then grab the update here and hopefully you battery woes will be over, at least from an Exchange perspective.
