Just before Google IO this year Google dropped Google Spaces into the Play Store. Spaces is a social sharing service aimed at connecting groups around a common interest or theme. It is very much like the Communities feature in Google+ sans the need to use Google+.
Al launch Spaces had an Android app as well as direct access via the Spaces website, they also launched a Chrome Extension, albeit a while after all the press hubub had died down.. I’ve been using spaces on and off, trying to decide what, if any, purpose it could serve in my workflow. One such experiment has been using it as a pin board for sites and pages I want to go back to at a later date, the Chrome extension makes it easy to do this.
To install the Chrome Extension simply grab the Google Spaces extension from the Chrome Web Store. The extension simplifies the process of posting to your spaces, it’s simple and effective and if you’re giving spaces a go you should definitely be using the chrome extension.
We’re still trying to work out exactly how the best way to use Spaces is here, if you’re also playing around with the tool feel free to chime in with your thoughts on the best way to use it. If you want to try out the Android app you can grab it below.
Have you been using Spaces? Share what you think it’s good, and perhaps not so good at.
