Hipster Whale, the company behind the hit game Crossy Road, and Shooty Skies has announced they will begin publishing games. To lead this new push they’ve hired ex-Atari and Krome Studios veteran Clara Reeves to run the business.

With over 150 million downloads for the Crossy Road franchise, which includes the hit Disney themed title, Crossy Road are now ready to look further afield. The Australian studio will continue to develop their own titles in-house, but will now expand into encouraging and developing new titles from interested developers.

Reeves, who most recently was in the role of investment manager for Games, Digital Content and Animation at Film Victoria will be in charge of scouting out potential opportunities for Hipster Whale.

Of the new push, Reeves said

Hipster Whale will continue to work on internal IP and with our amazing partners like Bandai Namco and Disney. We’ll now also now be looking to partner with great developers, helping them bring their creations to the widest audiences and find their own successes. That’s really exciting to all of us.

We look forward to seeing what titles come out of the new arm of Hipster Whale, as well as what in-house projects come next.
