The Augmented Reality Harry Potter game won’t be the only title based on the beloved world created by J.K Rowling, with a new game called Hogwarts Mystery launching in 2018.
There’s not a lot known about the game except that it will be launching in 2018 and offer players the ability to create their own character and experience life as a Hogwarts student. Once you sign up to the mailing list on their landing page, you’ll receive an acceptance letter to Hogwarts from Minerva McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress at Hogwarts, and you’ll just have to wait for the school year (and the mystery) to begin.
The confirmation letter mentions a school year starting on September 1st – just like in the books – but whether we’ll have to wait till then to play the game is anyone’s guess.
Hogwarts Mystery will launch under Portkey Games, a new label from Warner Bros. dedicated to creating ‘experiences’ based in the wizarding world of Harry Potter. For this game, they’ve partnered with Jam City, a San Francisco based development company behind a bunch of great games like Family Guy: Another Freakin’ Mobile Game, and Marvel Avengers Academy
The game will launch on both iOS and Android and to make sure you find out when it launches head over to the landing page and sign up to their mailing list.
