The recent launch of Audiobooks on Google Play has been hit and miss for most. There’s some high prices on popular series like Harry Potter, and some series such as The Dresden Files (It’s fantastic) are incomplete. If you want to try some out, or get something interesting for the kids to listen to, then check out these books.

There’s a bunch of free books including three from Google, and more from The Brothers Grimm, Aesop (the Fables guy) and more. There’s also a free audiobook from Kerry Wilkinson which doesn’t look to be aimed at kids, so probably skip that one.

Once you’ve added the book to your Google Play Books library, you can play back audiobooks on any of your devices, including your Google Home or Google Home Mini.

If you’ve been wanting to try out an audiobook, but didn’t want to pay to do so, then this is a pretty good way to do it. Head over and check them out now.

The few free audiobooks I tried were one chapter samples.
