The NBA is big… Big guys, big plays and big money! One of the highlights of the season is the All-star weekend (this year being played in Chicago) and the fan voting is once again presented by Google which makes sense given the large number of Google ads displayed during regular season games.

Fan voting accounts for 50% of the final numbers, followed by media and current players at 25% each. So if you’re a particularly big fan of any one player, you can add weight to your vote. Fans can vote once daily between now and the 20th of January.

How fans can vote:

  • NBA.com voting page at vote.NBA.com: Fill out one full ballot per day (per day is defined as once every 24 hours) on vote.NBA.com from a desktop or mobile browser. Fans can select up to two guards and three front court players from each conference when choosing starters.
  • NBA App: Access the ballot and vote through the app, which is available on Android and iOS. Fans can fill out one full ballot per day by selecting up to two guards and three front court players from each conference when choosing starters.
  • Google: Vote on Google.com or Google’s Search app by searching β€œNBA Vote” or β€œNBA All-Star Vote” or simply by searching for a player or team. Fans may submit votes for 10 unique players per day from Dec. 25 – Jan. 20.
  • Google Assistant: Vote via any Google Assistant-enabled device by saying, “Ok Google, vote for the NBA All-Star Game”. Fans may submit votes for up to 10 unique players per day from Dec. 25 – Jan. 20. Google Assistant is available on laptops, phones, speakers, tablets and other connected devices.

The All-star weekend is a personal favourite for me. I particularly enjoy the 3 point shootout and dunk contest which has produced some iconic moments over the years.

Now is a great time to support your fellow Aussies with Ben Simmons starting to come good even with his reluctance to shoot the ball from any range to speak of, or Gentleman Joe Ingles who is doing it all and better than ever now that he is starting. Who will you be voting for the All-star game this year?
