So I was on Facebook this morning, just trolling chatting to friends as usual. Until I stumbled across this ad:
Lo & behold, all you need to do is truthfully fill in a Government Survey on Poker & Gambling Among Victorian Teens and you’ll be entered into the competition to win the Google Nexus One. Now, nowhere does it specify you have to be a teenager (like me) or that you have to live in Victoria. So it’s open to anyone to do, but please don’t go and fill in crap answers just for the phone!
i have heard of “Competitions” like this actually being a fake or that the company “Can no longer supply the prize”… so that might be the case here too…oh well it was a nice thought…

(just kidding :p. You can never have enough (android) phones. I’m winning 5 on ebay at the moment).
It says to enter before Friday 11th June to ensure your results are included in the survey. I’m assuming this means they took all the results/compiled them at the end of Friday. There’s usually people working through these sorts of University studies to compile a report on the study, so perhaps they will wait until that is finished before emailing the winners.
I think it’s highly likely somebody from ausdroid will win. Hope it’s me ;D Buzz has enough phones as is.

Maybe they were supposed to close the survey on the next working day which is… tomorrow?
Maybe they don’t work on Saturday and Sunday. 🙂

Weird for a .gov endorsed competition. Can anyone say Hoax… or worse?

agree..is like the question keep repeating
Part of the reason that there seems to be almost the same questions repeated is a way of ascertaining whether the person doing the survey is answering honestly, or just randomly clicking the multiple choice buttons etc.
If your answers stay consistent, then you are at least reading the questions.
just under the heading “Honesty is the best policy” on the start page explains it all.
“We use advanced response technologies to detect and deter fraudulent responding.”
