Prepare to get mad, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 & X10 Mini Pro owners. Sony Ericsson only just released the above information via Facebook, which is extremely interesting. And it goes a little something like this.
- Xperia X10 Unbranded: Android 2.1 is available
- Xperia X10 Optus, Telstra & VHA: In testing with the Carrier and available ASAP
- X10 Mini Pro Virgin, Optus & Unbranded: Android 2.1 is available
- X10 Mini Pro Telstra & VHA: In testing with the Carrier and available ASAP
To clear it up: If you haven’t got your update and your device is from a Carrier, it appears you need to be angry at the Carrier, not Sony Ericsson. If you do have any luck with the update, let us know in the comments or hit us up on Twitter
I ended up flashing it myself with a generic firmware. working fine with it sofar, pretty sweet.

I bought an unlocked Xperia X10 and I am connected to TPG
TPG works with Optus carrier
Does it mean I have to wait for Optus to release update or I am in the group of X 10 Non-operator group.
If so, where can I get the 2.1 update

This is why i left android. The carriers bs around to much with this. Windows Phone 7 and iphone and blackberry do not have this issue
google needs to get this sorted if they want to be 100% serious about winning the world over, its just sh.t

I got mine updated yesterday.
On Virgin used the SE Update Software put my mini pro in flash mode and away it went 🙂
I shall go and hassle Optus today.
Using x10 mini btw.

This is another reason i will never go with Telstra, making customers wait so they can make software worse..
What are you on about – all the other carriers are in more or less the same boat.
The delay in getting carriers’ devices upgraded will indicate how much their customers are at a disadvantage by their customisation.
If its a couple of weeks, its acceptable.
Months – unacceptable. No carrier bloatware is worth a long or indefinite delay in Android upgrade versions.
Thanks Buzz just the usual bullshit with carriers adding their bloatware first.
