Sony Ericsson have posted on their Product Blog that they are preparing to push out the update which will bring dual touch to the Xperia X10, a feature it has been missing since launch. In addition to that, there are other small fixes and updates to core applications such as Moxier Mail, TimeScape and MediaScape, which will hopefully make them more user-friendly, as they kind of suck right now on the Xperia X10. There’s no word on a release period for the updates but we’ll keep you posted. Full list of what’s being updated after the break.

• Moxier in an updated version (2.7.13) that includes a great overview widget for e-mail, calendar and tasks.
• Moxier e-mail shown in Timescape.
• Possibilities of trimming videos in the phone.
• Videos are transcoded to fit into MMS-messages even if they were recorded in high quality.
• Minor changes to Mediascape with access to “Now Playing” in the top right corner.
• Addition of some bi-directional languages (Arabic, Farsi, Thai and Hebrew) – All products.
• Pinch/zoom touch for mobile Internet and Google Maps. – Only Xperia X10.

has anyone noticed that the battery life has halfed? because my xperia x10 only goes for two and half day, it used to go for four to five days.

Roh

I got this phone for free through 3 and all its aa massive lemon, had i known the iphone or HTC desire HD were coming out a few months later i wouldn’t have bothered.

But now i’m stuck because 3 arent pushing the 2.1 update via their network and I have a macbook at home and a mac at work , so how the f*ck do they expect me to be able to update it?

Anyone got any ideas?

Brian

Samsung have released a version of kies for the mac, not sure how useful it is though, but that would be your best bet. Or find a friend with a pc.

Brian, did you miss the extensive coverage of the fact that x10 will never have dual or multi touch? don’t beleive everything you read. esp when developers have stable 2.2 roms already, it’s only a matter of time before SE does it officially.

Brian

Did you two miss the extensive coverage of the fact that SE are not updating the x10 past 2.1.

You can hope for 2.2 and 2.3 all you like, but SE aren’t going to give you squat, just because they love you as their customers.

David

Surely skip 2.2 and go straight to 2.3 would be a nicer option? I’d love the new copy/paste in 2.3

dual touch has been out in japan for two weeks. hopefully the update will be out soon. android 2.2 sony? 🙂
