Not too long ago we did an App Review of Quota for Android, which is developed in Australia by the friendly folk at South Freo. I’m not going to go into detail about the app, as you can read that in the review, but I can tell you that Quota for Android has hit version 1.0, which is both a good and kinda, sorta less good-ish. Why do I say that? Well with V1.0 comes extra cool features and UI changes to their widget. But now you’ll have to pay for the full version, which is only $2.75 mind you. I went out and purchased it about 20 mins ago, and I love it. Best of all, the upgrade to the full version allowing for multiple accounts is done via In-app Billing, which when live today. So go on, try Quota for Android out for yourself.

Okay, I’ve given this app another go. Thanks for addressing the problem I found earlier (note I didn’t say “fix” – you tweaked the UI and added help text; that’s not really a fix). I found it rather clumsy. In particular, setting up the provider was made difficult by using the slide-out keyboard on my Milestone. Doing that forces a screen rotation, losing all the information I had entered. It took me a little while to realise this was happening and keep the keyboard slid out the whole time. Is this a peculiarity of the Android UI framework? I notice… Read more »
You mean like the Banner Above? I’ve been thinking about it.
Exactly like the banner above 🙂
Can I make the suggestion of getting rid of the crappy iPhone gloss you’ve got going on behind the Q.
I mean it’d look slick without it. Just sayin’
Thanks for candid comments, This did slip past in Testing, If you force close the App, The Provider comes back.
Version 1.01 (out now) removes the Delete and explains how to change a Provider :-
Tap the Provider (Which by Default is Local Data Usage, Then tap “i” and select the new Provider).

Same problem here that Ian Tester had. Removed the default account and tried to add my own and it failed. I shortly after removed the app. I’m not paying for something that I can’t even test out properly. Fail goes to SouthFreo.
Without paying, you’re limited to one “account”. Well, I removed the “local data usage” account that is setup by default and was then unable to add anything! All it did was promote the paid upgrade every time I pressed the “+” button. Pressing “no thanks” just took me back to the main screen with no accounts.
South Freo, do more testing!
Oh, and I don’t like the background to the icon being iPhone-style. I have an Android, not a one-buttoned shrine to Steve Jobs.

Great app! I’ve been following it ever since it was in it’s very short beta. Well worth the $2.75!
