Now here’s an interesting tidbit of information we’ve received from a trusted source for all this Telstra: The Big T is trialing the HTC EVO 3D (codenamed: HTC Shooter) on their network and the device name can be found in their provisioning systems. The HTC EVO 3D has very much the same internals as the HTC Sensation, which is also on Telstra’s provisioning system:
- qHD 4.3″ Super LCD 3D Display
- 1.2GHz Dual-Core CPU MSM8660, Adreno 220 GPU
- 5MP Camera – 1080p @ 24fps (2D), 720p @ 30fps (3D) — 1.3MP Front Camera
- 14.4Mbit / 5.76Mbit HSPA
- Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0
- 1GB RAM / 1GB ROM
Since the internals are so similar to Sensation — besides 3D — Telstra might not be launching the Sensation and instead will launch the EVO 3D as a direct competitor to the LG Optimus 3D which is an exclusive to Optus; or Telstra could launch both the Sensation and EVO 3D and just own the Android scene in Australia. Our source can’t confirm it’s definitely coming to Telstra just yet. We’ll keep this post updated as we work out more details.
I dont mean to come across as a hater but it shows Ausdroids incompetance to not realise the EVO3D is a CDMA device, and so would not work on australia’s GSM networks….
I don’t mean to come across as knowing what I’m talking about, but there is a GSM Version coming.

I just hope that Telstra hurry up and either bring this out or the sensation!
Contract is over and its time to give Voda the flick, just waiting on a good phone.
HURRY UP TELSTRA!!
sweeet
I always liked the evo but it never came here.
Kick stand@!!
Damn, tough choice now. Didn’t think we’d see the EVO3D (as was the case for the EVO4G) so the decision to get the Optimus 3D was easy… but now? Better performance or better display? Both are important for a good experience, especially when you’ll be tied to the device for a 24 month contract. It needs to hold up for that amount of time. I bought an HTC Magic 2 years ago when they were the only Android option in AUS and now 2 years later the thing is so laggy it’s barely usable. So Optimus 3D for better performance… Read more »
The shutter button on the 3D is definitely awesome. My wife would love the phone for that reason alone.
Ohh thank god…. i wanted it ever since i first read about it.
Probably end up waiting for the nexus 4g
