In late June we picked up from the Sony Ericsson Australia website that SE would be bringing their new incarnations of the old X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro — the Xperia Mini and Xperia Mini Pro — to Australia sometime soon. We’ve yet to hear any carriers put their hands up to say they’ll be stocking one or both of the devices. But something interesting we’ve just discovered from a recent Sony Ericsson blog post, is that Sony’s Music and Movie streaming service, Qriocity, will be launched exclusively on the Xperia Mini and Xperia Mini Pro. Furthermore, SE confirm that Australia is one of the 9 countries where the Xperia Minis and Qriocity will roll-out:

The video service will initially be available on two devices (Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro) in nine markets with localisation of content and movies – UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Australia, Japan*, Canada and the United States.

Sony Ericsson point out that the roll-out of this service begins on August 1st (today!), which hopefully means the Xperia Mini and/or Xperia Mini Pro will hit Australia sometime this month. Qriocity streaming is just another selling point that Sony Ericsson are going to have on their upcoming devices and hopefully their current ones such as the Play, Arc and Neo.
