One of my favourite games is just about to launch on Android, Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition, most of my friends will tell you i’m no gamer but I do play Grand Theft Auto games, and the mobile version will be available next week to celebrate ten years since the original release of the game on consoles, the game will be available December 15th for $4.99 in for select Android devices in the Android Marketplace. Only a select few devices are compatible at launch, hopefully they`ll expand this list to as many devices as possible
Android Phones: HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R, T-Mobile G2x
Android Tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Sony Tablet S, Toshiba Thrive.

Rockstar have released some Android in game screen shots :

I`ll be getting this as soon as its available to any device I have access to, shame they are releasing on so few platforms. I`m also hopeful that if this goes well they will look at porting GTA 3 : Vice City and GTA : San Andreas over as well, that would be awesome.

Seems its tegra specific at the moment, so even if apk did “magically” appear it may not run well (or at all) on SGS2.

Rockstar: there are some other technical differences with the Galaxy S2 that make
the development process a special case. Of course we’d love to make the
game available on as many devices for as many people as possible, so
know that it is something we’re still working on.

Pretty sure the APK will magically appear “elsewhere” if its not available on all devices. Surely the SGSII could easily handle this.
