Instagram for Android has received another of its frequent updates, this time adding the Tilt-Shift effect that is much-loved by iPhone users. The effect adds “depth of field and realistic blur” to your already fabulous photos. There’s also a fix for the Galaxy Ace, so functionality should work fine on that device now. If you haven’t already downloaded Instagram, give it a go and see what you think.

I installed Instagram, but it won’t even let me run it without signing up.  It’s a camera app for crying out loud!  I know there’s a social element, but bloody annoying if you can’t use it without the social side.

So apparently my ICS Nexus S is no longer supported…
because a stock android phone is just one of those phones you don’t support

It works fine on my Nexus S running AOKP.  Keep in mind it’s not a new filter, but an option you can enable on any filter (look for the teardrop button at the top of the screen when setting your filter)
