The official Google Calendar has now arrived on the play store, so why would you use the stock Android calendar over some reiterations of the calendar used by most manufacturers? The Google Calendar allows users to:

  • Display events from all google accounts that synchronizes with your Android device
  • Create, edit, and delete events.
  • View all your calendars at the same time, including non-Google calendars.
  • Quickly email all event guests from a notification with a customizable message.

You can also read up on the features of the Google Calendar on the Official Android Blog.

Didn’t like it much. HTC’s app seems better… Also the widget, not really that good. Comes only in one size and one view

Not all manufacturers include the stock calendar, take HTC for example, they use the calendar that is included with Sense

S Planner > Stock Calendar. Good to see users have the option to use stock though, hopefully Google puts more of the stock apps on the Play store
