Google Now has surely been one of the search giant’s most impressive and popular innovations of late. The notification and search system provides custom alerts and search results based on a number of trends and search patterns extracted from your Google account. Those of you running Android Jelly Bean 4.1 or later can, and likely already do take advantage of the technology. Though various mods are also available to those running Ice Cream Sandwich to allow installation and use of Google Now.
It has just been reported that a skeleton framework for Google Now has been found in the Google Chrome desktop browser. Google themselves have acknowledged the framework exists, but have stopped short of confirming it will actually be implemented.
Google confirmed that it’s working on the project, but stopped short of committing to it. “We’re always experimenting with new features in Chrome, so have nothing to announce at this time,” spokeswoman Jessica Kositz said.
No other details have been made available as to time frames or content, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
Personally, I’m not sure just how useful it will be on a desktop. It will depend on how they implement it. If it pulls location data from your phone and syncs this to the desktop Google Now, then it may be of some use. After all, your phone is never far away from you. Though if you have it on your phone, is there going to be an issue of duplication across desktop and phone?

I hardly use it. Far too demanding on the battery and most of the features are US based (such as traffic reports and etc).
I love it, traffic works well for me here, meetings, flight details are pulled straight from gmail without doing anything. Bus stops, trains, weather all works as advertised.
I hardly use it either, it’s just like siri, seem to be pointless gimmicks, although they do work well.
