Google has just announced via the Google Developers Google+ page that the date and time when registrations for Google IO 2013 will open. Tickets will go on-sale for $900USD on March 13, 2013 at 7:00 AM PDT – that’s 1am March 14th Australian Eastern time for those playing at home – the three day event will be held at the Moscone Centre West in San Francisco.

On the Google IO info page, Google has reminded people wanting to register for Google IO to have their Google Wallet and Google+ accounts up and active, both of which are a requirement for registration. Each year the registrations for Google IO Sell out fast, last year registrations sold out in just 28 minutes which was twice as quickly as the previous year so it will definitely be a battle to get tickets.

For any further information on Google IO, you should be following @googledevs on Twitter and Google Developers on Google+, or of course just keep your eye on Ausdroid where we’ll notify you of any further information that comes to hand.

Return flights to San Francisco ex Sydney will cost in the region of $1200, with the $900 on top for the Google IO conference plus hotels, meals, transport this will be a pretty big cost for someone from Australia to head over, but once again I’m putting my hand up, if someone would like to sponsor my trip I am definitely willing to take one for the team and spend three days in San Francisco.

Anyone planning on going to Google IO this year?
