Reports are coming in, that an update for the Nexus 7 (2013) is beginning to roll out to the new tablet, which is believed to possibly fix the multi-touch issue some people have been reporting with their new tablet device.
The update, JSS15R, doesn’t appear to have any user-facing changes, and it’s only one letter away from the last minor update which rolled out shortly after the initial launch back in June which addressed initial multi-touch issues as well as GPS issues.
The update is about 8MB and the update notification just re-lists the Android 4.3 features. It is believed that this update could fix the last remaining multi-touch issues some consumers are still experiencing on the updated Nexus 7.
You can check to see if the update is available by going to Settings > About Tablet > System Updates. If you can’t wait, you can download a zip file which Android Police have been provided with.
Have you received and updated your Nexus 7 (2013) tablet device with the JSS15R update? Have you been experiencing the ill fated multi touch issue?
it’s only a security fix. Why do you say it will possibly fix the multitouch issue? What are your sources to say that?
Just checked, this isn’t coming up on my Nexus 7 (2013) 32GB. I actually haven’t faced any issues so far so I’m really not too keen on any updates. Makes no difference to me at the moment.
My Nexus 7 2013 still has random reboot issues as well.
No rhyme or reason to it, it’ll just black screen then Google logo and reboot.
hopefully this fixes that as well.
