Announced back at the end of December, LG Australia has today announced that their ‘KnockOn’ tap to wake/sleep feature will be rolling out to their successful L Series II line of handsets this month.
The update will begin rolling out now and should be completed by the end of April, with owners able to download the update as a maintenance release. The handsets being targeted for the release are :
- LG Optimus L2 II
- LG Optimus L3 II
- LG Optimus L5 II
- LG Optimus L7 II
- LG Optimus L7 II (Dual SIM)
The KnockOn feature allows users to double tap on the display to wake the phone or put it into sleep mode using the same gesture. The feature was first introduced on the G2, where the feature made for a useful addition with the phone having rear mounted keys, it has since made its way to the G Flex and into the LG G Pad 8.3.
Like any software update, the LG KnockOn update will of course be subject to network approval. Personally, I loved KnockOn on both the LG G Flex and the G2, but it’s over to you, if you own one of the L Series II handsets, let us know when you see the update and tell us what you think of ‘KnockOn’.
Can you please roll it out to the Optimus G, LG. Ta very much.
Probably won’t happen. Just saying.
