Sony SmartWatch 2

One of the biggest complaints from owners of the Sony Smartwatch 2 was inability to customise their watch faces to make them more personal. That is, until today.

Sony have released a software update for the Smartwatch 2 which adds custom watch faces to the mix, and also provides a built-in editor right within the app. Users now have the ability to choose from a base set of faces that include the standard digital and analog faces in a variety of styles, and create / edit their own from these sets.

The watch face editor presents users with a blank slate, to which they can add clocks and widgets to create their personalised watch face. There are a number of clock widgets to choose from, including digital watch faces, and three different analogue faces as well.

There are also additional widgets available such as dates, new events, Bluetooth indicator, battery life and alarm for users to utilise with their watch face. Users can make their own watch face within a matter of minutes with ease, meaning there are loads of opportunities for those creative juices to go into overdrive.

Lastly, there is also a new option to change the background wallpaper on your home screen should you wish to change things up a bit from time-to-time.

The update is coming to Sony Smartwatch 2 users through Google Play Store, however if your just itching to get the update, you can click the link below to download it directly from the Play Store.

I’m an Aussie Android hobby developer and have just created my first set of Sony SmartWatch 2 watchfaces. If you’re interested please check them out on Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Julian+J+Wong

This is a very good update, I’m glad that Sony are still working on the watch. Everything is much smoother and works better than ever – Sony has definitely improved the responsiveness. There’s even “double-tap” to brighten the always on screen.
