HTC-One-M8-Android-L-640x318

Hot on the heels of the announcement of Android L at Google I/O 2014, HTC has jumped on their blog to announce something wonderful for owners of the HTC One (M7) from last year, and this year’s HTC One (M8).

Once Android L’s final code is received from Google, HTC have undertaken to bring Android L to the One M7 and One M8 within 90 days. Yes. That’s right, just three months. This isn’t a promise just for the US market either; HTC Ones around the world will receive this update within 90 days of the code release.

Of course, HTC will probably (hopefully?) bring Android L to other devices in its lineup, but it only makes sense to guarantee such an update for flagship devices first, before looking at what else in HTC’s range will take the new OS.

Err … Is that within 90 days to the Telco’s or the phone? Unfortunately, most update are delayed by the Telco’s not the manufacturers. Besides, I now run MaximusHD on my M7 so I will probably get the update a lot quicker.
