HTC Sense Keyboard
Just prior to the launch of the HTC One M8, HTC began following the lead of both Google and Motorola and moved some of their apps into Google Play. Today they’ve also released the Sense Keyboard – known as HTC Sense Input – to Google Play.

The keyboard release is the latest in the trend of moving apps to Google Play, which allows HTC to push updates more quickly than having them built into the system, and therefore requiring an OS update with all the carrier approval rigmorale that goes with it. HTC did announce that they would bring Blinkfeed to devices from other manufacturers ‘this summer’ when they released the HTC One M8, whether they intend to release the keyboard to other devices is unknown.

There is an update waiting for those with a compatible phone (HTC One M8 and Sense 6 devices), but it’s not massive. The changelog for the update includes :

  • Support Google extract view in landscape mode.
  • Add the prompt when adding none word into personal dictionary.
  • Show .ru/.ro/.nl on Russian/Romanian/Dutch URL keyboard.
  • Enable Handwriting manual submit mode.
  • Fix Zhuyin “ㄦ” cannot be typed issue.

If you’re using a compatible phone, head over to Google Play to get the update and tell us if you find it useful. Now to see what else HTC can release to Google Play.
