lg-g3-official-1

Telstra has announced today that the LG G3, and LG G Watch, will be available from Telstra on 5 August. This is fairly big news in respect of the G3, but even bigger news in respect of the G Watch — retail availability of these two giants will no doubt be popular news.

G3

The LG G3 will operate on Telstra’s latest 700MHz network and will be available for online pre-order on 29 July. A limited time offer of a $250 VISA gift card with select pre-orders will also be available.

Telstra customers can purchase the LG G3 on a Telstra Mobile Accelerate Plan, plus $7 per month handset repayment when they stay connected for 24 months, which includes 1.5 GB of data (excess usage $0.03c/MB) for use in Australia ($77/month – minimum cost over 24 months is $1849. 2 Minute standard call $2.38).

Business customers can get the LG G3 smartphone on a $65 Easy Share Business Plan, plus $9 per month handset payment when they stay connected for 24 months, which includes 1 GB of data (excess data $0.03/MB) to use in Australia ($74/month – minimum cost is $1776. 2 minute standard call $2).

Customers can also purchase the LG G3 from Telstra outright for $696 RRP.

G Watch

Telstra has announced availability of the G Watch in Australia as well. While Telstra has not announced pricing specifically, we know the RRP $259, so expect a price somewhere in that vicinity.

Of course, when we know more, we’ll share it here first.
Update: Telstra will also be selling the LG G Watch on a monthly repayment plan. With a $19 per month upfront payment you can pay the G Watch off over 24 months, that is if you don’t want to pay the $259 upfront.

Pleasantly surprised

Ordered mine and getting the $250 gift card with it

JeniSkunk

Chris, any word, at all, from Telstra as to which pre-orders might get the gift card?

John

Will it be the 32gb 3gb of RAM version or just the 2gb version?

JeniSkunk

It’ll be the international 2Gb/16Gb version.
Only Korea, officially, got the 3Gb/32Gb version.

John

With the Korean version do you happen to know if all the band frequencies 2g/3g/4g will work in Australia? Are there any features of the Korean version that don’t work in Australia?

Jason

The D855 model with 3Gb and 32Gb storage DOES support all frequencies in use in Australia, included Optus’s 2300Mhtz “4G Plus” network.
The D855 supports 4G at 700 (band 28 for APAC), 1800, 2100, 2300, 2600

If you get it from the “group buy” on ebay, that’s a great deal because it comes from Taiwan (where LTE at 700mhtz is already live) and includes an australian warranty (qd_au is the seller)

John, there are two models for the LG G3, the Australian market (All Carriers and retailers) will only be receiving the 2GB/16GB version of the LG G3. There is a 3GB RAM/32GB Storage version of the LG G3, it has been released in several markets such as Korea, Europe and the US. There is currently a group buy on eBay which we posted on and can be found here : http://ausdroid.net/2014/07/23/ebay-group-deal-lg-g3-32gb-3gb-639-delivered/ – not sure on Warranty for these though. Or you can check out some local distributors who also have the 3GB/32GB version as well as offering a local warranty:… Read more »
