4G phones are getting cheaper by the day. The budget 4G F-Series of Optimus phones from LG are among the first to drop below the $120 mark this Wednesday, when Coles begins selling the handset for just $119.
Launched in Australia last November, the Optimus F3 is a fairly low-end handset when it comes to specs. Though it does only come with Android 4.1.2, it still features great LG software features like QuickMemo and QSlide as well as Camera software enhancements such as Time Catch Shot and Beauty Shot.
Hardware wise, the LG Optimus F3 includes :
- 4.0″ 480×800 resolution IPS LCD Display
- 1.2 GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Dual-Core Processor
- 1GB RAM
- 4GB On-board Storage with microSD Card Slot(up to 32GB)
- 5MP Rear Camera with LED Flash, with VGA Front-facing camera
- Wifi, Bluetooth 4.0 (LE), GPS,
- Radios:

- 3G: 850/2100MHz
- 4G: 1800/2600MHz
- Android 4.1.2
- 2,460mAh Battery

The handset is locked to the Telstra network, there’s a limit of one handset per customer with no trade sales allowed. You will need to provide ID to purchase the phone as well as the phone comes with a Telstra SIM card.
With 4G becoming the defacto standard for most handsets launching in Australia and indeed around the world, the 3G handset though cheap could become a thing of the past if prices continue to drop. The phone goes on-sale this Wednesday morning (15th October), head on in to your nearest Coles and grab one.
Tempting, but would prefer a newer version of Android :-/
For the non-tech but android enthusiast this would be a good buy. Such as my dad who has an android stuck on android 2 days… can be flashed up to a custom rom but it’s also a dying phone.
This isn’t bad but for only $30 more you can get a moto E
But the moto E isn’t 4G?
