LG G3 Header
Last month, LG Germany announced that their current flagship, the G3, would receive an update to Android 5.0 at some point in the fourth quarter of this year. A set of leaked screenshots show that LG is hard at work on the update and it’s looking very ‘Lollipopy’.

The push of code to AOSP this week, has enabled vendors to get to work on porting the final code to their devices, adding their own specific touches to the OS before pushing it out. It seems that LG will keep their custom soft keys, but will definitely bring the new notification cards to the LG skin, as well as the rounded profile picture in the top right of the notification shade.

The rollout schedule of the update will obviously be dependent on carriers testing procedures. We’ll have to wait for LG to deliver the update to carriers before we even get a hint of whether it will reach handsets before the end of Q4 this year. Still, it’s good to see they’ve made a start.

Yay! I was worried LG would be one of the slow ones, but pleasantly surprised. This’ll make a great phone greater. Cant hardly wait!

Strand

Blergh. Navigation buttons unchanged. I’m actually a big fan of the default triangle/circle/square and hope LG adds it as an option.
