Remember when Google Talk ran Gmail-based chats that used to provide a handy custom status window that provided all your colleagues and pals knew what you were up to? We do here at Ausdroid, but ever since Hangouts replaced Google Talk, the feature had disappeared. Until now, that is.
An update has been put through, bringing the status bar back in Hangouts for Gmail, allowing you to deliver that info once more, just like you would normally would via Facebook or Google+ along with your favourite (or not so favourite) emoji should you wish to utilise and share.
However if you’re looking to let your friends know when you’re busy, you will be required to ensure you have made the switch to the “new Hangouts” first.
The update is rolling out now to Gmail so its worth keep an eye out for the update if you’re interested in this returned feature.
