ZTE has begun shipping out its latest Blade V2 entry-mid range mobile smartphone to Officeworks and stores literally right before Christmas for a RRP $199.

The Blade V2, which we announced ZTE had placed up on their website, is now beginning to hit Officeworks stores, with the mid range entry level smartphone appearing up on their website. In case you have forgotten what the ZTE Blade V2 specs are, we have the full list below for you:

Originally the Blade V2 was due to hit JB Hi-Fi stores and this could still be the case, but at the moment the only listing is for Officeworks on the ZTE Mobiles website.

Furthermore, we have heard that due to delays in production stock being available just before Christmas, that ZTE Australia have delayed the launch of the Blade V6 to January 8th. We have also heard that retail channels will also be announced for the Blade V6 on 8th January next year, which really is only a delay of a couple of weeks from the original launch date of December 18th.

While it is a little disappointing that the Blade V6 has been delayed and the launch and availability of the Blade V2 has only been made available this week so close to Christmas, this remains generally the biggest selling time for mobile handsets generally so they may do okay. That said, if you’re in the market for a cheap Android handset with some pretty good specs as a last minute gift, then you might want to check availability of the Blade V2 through your local Officeworks store. As stated, the Blade V2 is now available with a RRP of $199 through Officeworks stores nationally.

“8GB Memory (with 3.72GB user space available), expandable to 32GB via microSD”

Well this is a fail. So many apps can’t be moved to the SD card, that 3.7GB of usable space is just not going to cut it.

Now if this ran android 6.0, it would be different as you can adopt the SD card into internal space finally!

You’re doing better than me. I can’t find where to load the SD card. There’s only one slot – for the SIM cards.

Simple, just take the back off the phone to expose the SIM card slot using your finger nail in the bottom RH corner. Oh & by the way I love my ZTE Blade V2, great value for AU$180 outright.

1 gig ram for $200?

Ye I don’t know why more companies aren’t doing 1.5GB like Samsung does in a couple of their midrange phones.

Either way still looks a good value phone. I’ve used 1GB phones before and they’re still fine, just can’t have a lot of apps open.

Never had a 1GB phone on Lollipop though so it could perform better or worse than Kitkat.

I’ve seen a youtube comparison video of the 1gb and 2gb versions of the moto g 3rd gen, and the performance was almost identical from memory. If it runs a stock build of lollipop it probably runs quite well!

Expandable memory, ppi of around 300, looks like a decent option at that price point
