Today Google are rolling out a new beta version of Nougat, version 7.1.2 to users enrolled in their beta program. Announced via Google+ and the Android Beta Program community the beta update for Nougat MR2 (build NPG47I) will be rolling out to eligible Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Nexus Player devices.
Having just turned on my Nexus 6P for the first time in a week or two I have already received the notification of the 194MB update. At this stage the full factory images are not available but we will let you know when they are.
Some of the changes we are hearing include the fingerprint gestures now available on the Nexus 6P and the Pixel launcher, new navigation buttons and a new multitasking/recents menu on the Pixel C (see images below). The Pixel phones now also have a “Powered by Android” logo.
The new fingerprint gestures on the Nexus 6P can be accessed via the settings menu in the “Moves” sub-menu.

The new multitasking menu on the Pixel C only allows for eight apps with no scrolling available so we would assume that this is not the final version that we are seeing in this beta. This is all rolled into the Pixel launcher for the Pixel C. For those tablet users who want to give this a try you can grab the APK file from APK Mirror.

I received the update on Nexus 5x but don’t seem to have the pixel launcher or assitant.
The Pixel C actually got the full Pixel Launcher with this new beta build.
It’d been a long wait.
