It is still around five weeks until Huawei will take to the stage and announce their next flagship, the Mate 10, but we are starting to see a steady stream of leaks — and it looks impressive. Today someone has shared a picture of the Mate 10 open to its Settings app.

The image shows a very large Mate 10 display with it near bezel-less on the sides and some of the smallest bezels we have seen on a phone at the top and bottom. The ratio of the display does not seem to be the 18:9 display ratio of the LG G6 and V30 but instead a 17:9 display.

As seen in the picture above, the supposed Mate 10 does NOT have the fingerprint sensor on the front, unlike the factory CAD renders we saw last week from OnLeaks. This leads me to the hypothesis that this is in fact the Mate 10 Pro. The picture fits with the possible render we saw leaked by Huawei on Twitter last weekend as well as matching up with the two front displays of it that we have seen leaked:

This then leads us to the question, will the Mate 10 Pro thus have the fingerprint sensor on the back ala the Mate 9 or will they be the first of the big dogs to bring the under-glass fingerprint sensor to market? I’d like to see Huawei continue their recent innovative trend and go for the latter but realistically it is more likely to be the former. Either way, that screen real estate has my mouth watering.

The Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro will be announced on October 16 in Munich. It will definitely house the new Kirin 970 sporting it’s own AI hardware and is also rumoured to have a 2K 6.3in LCD display and a dual camera (12MP and 20MP) on the back. A device this big you would expect to have a massive battery too.

As the count down to the announcement what could well be the hero device of 2017 continues we will keep you updated with anything and every thing we hear regarding it.

Anyone besides me looking forward to seeing what Huawei bring to the table come October 16?
