A vast number of Australians have owned a Nokia phone at some stage of their lives but unfortunately Nokia ties their brand to Windows Phone and they suffered. HMD Global have resurrected the Nokia brand with some decent phones and they are looking to continue that momentum they have created.

The Nokia 8 is a good phone that received a favourable review from us here at Ausdroid. HMD Global are now set to release an upgraded version of the Nokia 8 according to a new variant passing through the FCC followed by an announcement by HMD Global in Germany.

According to WinFuture, beginning on October 20 HMD will release a new Nokia 8 variant in Germany (with it following to the US not long after). The new variant will have the same Snapdragon 835 processor as the original SKU but will have an upgraded 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The new variant sell for €669 and come in a “Polished Blue” colour only.

While it is unlikely this version will be released here in Australia we have reached out to Nokia for any local availability and pricing details.
