Tasmania based NBN provider Launtel has announced that it is launching a new NBN 1000/50 connection option called FastAF priced at $139.91 per month, with minimum download speeds of 400mbps up to 950mbps.

Launtel was the first to launch Gigabit connections in Australia 3 years ago and soon after implemented a User Portal that offered their customers a lot of flexibility eg automated online signup and activation and an online portal where they can change their speeds and even pause paying for their service while on holiday!

Damian Ivereigh the founder of Launtel says the #FastAF (Fast as Fibre) option gives users the confidence that they’re getting the best download connection speed physically possible. Launtel is so confident that the company is giving customers who signup to it a 7 day free trial for their first week.

Assuming a user decides to stay on FastAF without switching to other options in the month, the price for this “up to Gigabit” speed connection is a market leading $139.91 (inc GST) per calendar month.

Interestingly instead of charging per month Launtel allows customers to change their connection speed up/down on a daily basis and get charged accordingly eg. FastAF is $4.60 per day it is turned on.

Ivereigh advises that at launch over 450,000 Australian homes with FTTP and HFC will have access to Launtel FastAF NBN connections.

It isn’t available to customers who are in Launtel Vocus/LoLow connection areas yet, but they’re constantly switching more areas on to direct Launtel Premium connections. There’s also a symmetrical option in there too for those wanting faster uploads.

Launtel look like an option worth considering if you’re thinking of changing NBN RSP’s, with no contracts for any of their NBN options and an Australian tech support team based in Launceston, Tasmania.

Please let us know in the comments if you are already a Launtel customer or are considering signing up with them.

That’s for sure. I’m on FTTP and so are a few mates and all their addresses come back as not available at this time. Such a shame.

ABB on the other hand has it available for all their FTTP users.
