JBL’s Link series of speakers featuring Google Assistant have been around for a little while – the Link 10 and Link 20 were spoken of last November, and more recently, we completed our review of the JBL Link 10. Rich, portable sound featuring Google Assistant is the tag line, as well as being waterproof.

For those unfamiliar, the LINK 10 and LINK 20 speakers are designed to be highly portable with 5 and 10 hours of battery life respectively, and the IPX7 waterproof design gives LINK even more versatility for enjoyment outdoors. The new LINK 300, however, delivers the most powerful sound in the series and can be easily linked together with multiple speakers to create a big, bold multi-room listening experience— within reach of any home Wi-Fi network.

Unlike the earlier models, it’s not so much designed to be used outside or in the elements, rather to be placed around your home to deliver room-filling sound wherever you happen to need it. At $349, it’s not the cheapest portable speaker, but with the ability to link to other compatible speakers, to stream over Bluetooth, and to bring Google Assistant to your place in a more stylish package than Google’s own Home products, it’s not a tough sell, either.

For those interested, the JBL LINK series with the Google Assistant is now available on www.jbl.com.au and at select retailers. We’ll be trying to snag a review unit so we can take it for a spin and tell you whether it’s worthwhile for you!

Really enjoying my Link 20, considered waiting for this speaker to be available but chose portability instead
