After launching their range of Qi chargers, and Qi enabled Furniture and lamps to Australia earlier this year, IKEA have finally released the QI enabled wireless charging cases for older Galaxy S and iPhones to Australian stores.
The covers, which have been released under the company’s Vitahult product name, are compatible with older Galaxy S series phones with the cases available for $14.99 for the Galaxy S3, S4 and S5. Also released are charging cases which add Qi wireless charging functions for older iPhone models. The Vitahult charging case for the iPhone 4 and 4s are priced at $19.99 while the case for the iPhone 5, 5s and 6 are priced at $29.99.
Looking at the Ikea range overseas, it appears that the production of cases in the Vitahult range stopped with the earlier Galaxy S series after Samsung built wireless charging supporting both Qi and PMA standards from the Galaxy S6 onwards. They’ve also not updated the Vitahult range for the iPhone range after the release of the iPhone 6s.
You can head over to the IKEA website to check out the range of QI products available and check store availability, though weirdly enough, IKEA’s newest store in Western Sydney, the Marsden Park store, doesn’t have any of the QI products available at this time.
