D-Link is a well-known company who are continually working to build its range and deliver a continually improving user experience. They continually do this and manage to do it at an affordable price. Across the last week, that range expansion has continued with both mobile and home-based data transport solutions.

DWA-X3000 Wi-Fi 6 PCIe Adapter with Bluetooth® 5.1 – $149.95

For users who may be working on an older PC that doesn’t have Wi-Fi 6 or Bluetooth connectivity, you now have an option. DWA-X3000 is designed to achieve data speeds far in excess of the current NBN capabilities on Wi-Fi 6 but is also compatible with 802.11ac/n/g/a/b technology. The big bonus here, particularly for PCs that don’t have the feature already is Bluetooth® 5.1 connectivity. This gives more flexibility to connectivity including headsets, keyboards and game controllers without using — potentially limited — USB ports.

DWM-222 4G USB Adapter – $99.95

A simple and somewhat “old-school” USB 4G adaptor that could be used in a mobile situation, or as a USB backup for your home or business router. The device has its own drivers built-in so — in theory — will just work in nearly any situation. It’s small and lightweight making it easy to carry, but it’s also got the flaw that it only supports a single device connection on Windows 7/ 8/10 and MacOS 10.15 or higher.

DWR-933 4G LTE Cat 6 Wi-Fi Hotspot – $249.95

Taking a step forward to a more modern mobile connectivity option, the DWR-933 is a 4G LTE hotspot that supports up to 32 connected Wi-Fi devices. It supports Micro-SIM and will deliver up to 300Mbps to your connected devices. It’s small enough that you could easily turn it on, drop it in your bag and enjoy connectivity all day long.

There aren’t any surprises here in the feature set:

  • Compatible with 802.11ac/n/g/b devices
  • 3000 mAh battery giving you up to 14 hours between charges

Perhaps the only — somewhat subjective — let down here is the MicroUSB charging versus USB-C. Users who want or need a bit of extra connectivity would be very happy checking out the D-Link Range as it’s very capable and very affordable.
