Microsoft was late to the mobile game, and since then they’ve generally played catch-up, although Windows Phone is finally showing some promise, they still have only a tiny market share. To encourage users to embrace their products, Microsoft has cottoned onto the strategy of releasing Android versions of their products to entice users over, and the latest ploy is to release One Note for Android Wear.
To use One Note for Android Wear, you will of course need a phone running Android 4.3 with the Android Wear app installed, an Android Wear watch and two Microsoft Android apps: One Note for Android Wear and One Note, because the Android Wear app will not work without the main One Note app.
Once you’ve installed the apps and setup, simply assign One Note as the default note-taking app in the Android Wear app and tell your watch to ‘Take a Note’.
Well played Microsoft, now you can claim more app installs. Head on over to Google Play and grab both apps if you’re interested in trying it out.
I haven’t seen anything that remotely tempts me from leaving Android (I own a Nexus 5 and 7 currently), but I must admit that using this One Note app alongside my new Surface Pro 3 has blown Google Keep completely out of the water. Not an entirely fair comparison, but compelling all the same.
