Together
As we approach the launch of Google’s newest products on October 5th, there’s a glaring reminder that Google has still not released Android Wear 2.0. Users of the Together watch face, the feature which lets you pair a watch face with a friend and share doodles, emojis, photos, and activities are being reminded that the watch face will no longer be available on September 30th due to the imminent release of Android Wear 2.0.

Google started sending out the message to Together watch face owners in early August, with the following notification:

The Android Wear 2.0 update was announced at Google I/O back in May, the updated wearable OS will bring a lot more functionality to watches including a keyboard, handwriting recognition, the ability to add complications (the widgets on your watch faces) from apps to any compatible watch face and for those fitness fanatics, a heap of Google Fit updates.

The Android Wear 2.0 update is based on Android 7.0 (Nougat) so the release is tied to the launch of the latest version of Android which released last month. Android Wear 2.0 has so far though been missing in action, though rumours of some Google made watches are still circulating so it could be launched with those.

So, if you’ve been using the Together watch face, then its time to start looking at alternatives, and hopefully Google delivers on that Android Wear 2.0 update sooner rather than later.

Well after the Moto 360 1 only lasting 18 months I will never buy another Android Wear device.
The stupid thing shuts down at anywhere from 90 to 30% battery life, push the button to check the time it flashes on then off, holding the button to power on does not work.

Every few weeks the Bluetooth connection dies, in the middle of the night repeated requests to register the watch with the phone and then a while before it finally connects.

Android Wear has been a disaster for me.

I have the same issues, but only with the OG Moto 360, I fear it is that device that is the issue. When I’m reviewing other Android Wear devices all of those issues go away.

    That’s a real bummer. I’d say it’s Moto’s fault though, not AW.
