When it comes to luxury smart watches TAG Heuer are at the tip of the tongue, and now they’re onto their third generation Android Wear smartwatch with the launch of the Connected Modular 41.
The name is derived from the smaller 41mm diameter body, and modular in that TAG offers a range of customisable lugs and bands (nine in total) for the watch, which starts at $1,200 USD and ranges up in price depending on which of those customisations you want to include.
The lugs on the watch allow you to connect the mechanical Calibre 5 watch if you want a change of pace, or are visiting with some serious watch aficionados.
TAG hasn’t just made it smaller, it’s gotten a few updates internally as well. The Connected Modular 41 still runs on the Intel platform, but the RAM is now 1GB and storage gets a bump to 8GB, a bonus for anyone storing music on the watch. It still has NFC, as well as GPS, and it’s water resistant to 50 meters so feel free to go swimming with it.
According to TAG, the screen is now brighter and it’s also slightly smaller, but more pixel dense than the Connected 45 with a 390×390 resolution, which works out to 326 pixels per inch.
At $1,200 it’s not going to be on many peoples insta-buy list, but it’s an option if you’re serious about your watches.
looking for a decent watch that i can use Android pay and LTE. might switch to gear s4 LTE next year.
