The Nexus 7 2013 was a fantastic tablet and continues to be the tablet of choice for many with its great size and, even today fairly good specs. The fact that Google is still seeding updates for it adds a big plus and today we’re seeing another update with a factory Image for Android 5.1.1_r6 being released onto the Nexus Factory Images page.
The update, which retains the Android 5.1.1 version, but updates to a new build – LMY48G – is very likely a maintenance release, but a change log hasn’t been released for the tablet as yet so we’ll have to wait and see. You can grab the factory image from the usual place on the Android Developers page.

For developers, of course you can also find the Binary files for the updated build on the Binaries page as well.
There’s been no reports at this stage of a captured OTA URL as yet, so we’re still waiting for that. If you do get a prompt to update via OTA, remember to capture the URL and share it with us.
I saw the headline and was hoping for an M preview.
I hope the results are better than the folks with the 2012 model got. My wife won’t use hers much these days it’s such a dog after the update.. Was great when on ICS..
My 2012 Nexus 7 has always been a dog no matter what version of Android it ran
