Techanist is reporting that the Galaxy Tab is currently being tested on all Carriers, which isn’t all that much of a surprise given it was videoed a few weeks back in Sydney. I have heard some word that Optus are getting serious about it, but nothing as of yet has been confirmed. I wouldn’t be surprised if it popped up on VHA, given they can hide things pretty well & Vodafone UK are getting it.

Quite a bit of speculation. Where you out of viable news so you had to make some up? How about we wait and see the actual product working in real life. Then if it is an issue we can discuss. All the video of the Galaxy Tab shows things running perfectly.
You do know this is filed under ‘rumour’ not ‘news’, yeah?
I don’t believe anyone here has stated there’s an issue with the device itself, it seems there is more of a question mark of the pricetag. But like you, I’m going to sit back and wait to see, if not try, a working Galaxy Tab before questioning it.
I’d most likely get a wifi-only version if the price is good enough, can’t see myself getting a 3G version with Optus or any other carrier, my SGS is good enough for 3G 😛
plus with wifi tethering on the SGS through 3G, it’d kinda make the 3G SGT almost pointless 😉
You need 3G to get certified, ie, no phone modem = no Google Market.
Not true, Niall.
Google states the following:
It doesn’t say anywhere that you must have 3G in order to be eligible for the Android Market, unless I am missing something.
Does anyone want this? Not cheap enough for me 🙁
I want one, but not for the prices that are hangin’ around at the moment.
I agree, hopefully the carriers can get it heavily subsidised and make it worth while. 49 a month with like 4-5 gigs of data i think would be a reasonable price
