Google have been adding tweaks to a lot of their apps lately and it is continuing with Google Photos starting to receive the new account picker that was announced at Google I/O this year.
The new update, rolling out via a server side switch at the moment, brings the new account picker along with the swipe gesture used to quickly navigate through the accounts. Simply swipe up or down on your avatar to change to the next or previous account.
Tapping on the avatar which is now on the right hand side of the search bar within Google Photos brings up the various accounts you have on your device along with the backup status and also the option to free up space on your phone by deleting backed up photos.
Android Police have been tipped of this update, but we are yet to see it here at Ausdroid, also have been given a gif showing the animation around the avatar that circles it while photos are being backed up. When it turns green the back up is complete.
There is also a new option within the menu that allows you to see the skipped suggestions — the automated creations from Google that you have dismissed either accidentally or on purpose.
The update is rolling out server side so there is no way to trigger it yourself but keep an eye out for it and let us know what you think when it does arrive on your device.
