Ahead of their launch of the LG G6 at Mobile World Congress, LG came out yesterday with confirmation that the phone will be built on the Snapdragon 821 platform to get it to market faster. For some customers, that’s less than ideal, but the good news is that new rumours point to the LG V30 being built on the Snapdragon 835 SoC.
For the last two years, LG has had a dual release for their higher end phones with the LG G series launching towards the beginning of the year, and the V series launched towards the end. That trend will continue this year, according to the latest rumours, with the later launch schedule allowing the company to utilise the Snapdragon 835 SoC which will then be more readily available.
According to a rumour from Chinese social networking site Weibo, the V30 will also come with 6GB of RAM, an upgraded Quad-DAC and if we’re reading this right dual-cameras – not a surprise given the dual-camera setups on most phones these days.
The final part of the ‘leak’ talks about ‘more mysterious features’, but what that means could be anything – 360-degree camera built-in? Virtual Assistant? Unicorns? It literally could be anything, so we might have to wait a bit longer to find out what that means.
The V series has been launching around September each year, so if you’re waiting to see what LG has to offer there’s a little bit of time to go and we’ll surely see more rumours before then.
