It’s a good time of year to show off upcoming smartphones, and Alcatel hasn’t missed the opportunity, taking to Twitter yesterday to show off its new yet-to-be-unveiled smartphone range ahead of MWC 2018 next week.

We first saw a preview of Alcatel’s plans back in January, when Dan reported on the new 1, 3 and 5-series models. Though internals are yet to be discussed publicly, there’s some things we already know and that’s enticing enough. For example, 18:9 screen ratios that we’ve seen broadly embraced by other brands.

From what we’ve seen, all three models will include rear-mounted fingerprint sensors, though camera configurations will vary. The 1 Series will have a single sensor front and rear, whereas the 3 Series will up the ante with a dual-rear camera. The Alcatel 5 Series will go the other way, with a dual front-facing camera for (presumably) wide-angle selfies, and a single rear camera for everything else. We’re also told there’ll be large batteries across the range to power a day’s use.

Beyond this, everything remains to be unveiled next Saturday night in Barcelona ahead of MWC 2018. Given Alcatel’s interesting and unique announcements last year, we look forward to seeing what they come up with this year.
