Wear OS isn’t the best system for wearables out there, but Google is slowly improving it with incremental updates. The latest update includes a new Play Store design.

The previous pull-down menu is gone completely, meaning it no longer covers the search button. The options within have been moved to the main screen of the Play Store app.

New buttons for My Apps, Accounts, and Settings are now at the bottom of the list.

While it’s a small update, ensuring elements like drop down menus don’t cover crucial features like search is a welcome change.

This update is apparently already widespread – users have been reporting the Play Store changes are already present on their watches.

Our current pick for one of the best Wear OS devices right now is the Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle.

Absolutely agree about the Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle! Other than my very initial concerns when it took 20 mins to boot up (presumably for updates) I’ve been very happy with it! I’m very glad I waited for some decent hardware before getting on the android wearable train haha.
