Earlier today, the Android 4.4.3 images and binaries released for the Nexus range, so that any people who wanted to, could flash the latest image and receive the update early. Since then, the OTA’s have been arriving on phones and tablets everywhere, and as usual, enterprising developers from XDA have been working hard to capture the updates so that people can manually flash them to their devices.
The first update that has been captured so far is the Nexus 7 (2013) Wifi (no LTE yet), which updates Android 4.4.2(KOT49H) to Android 4.4.3 (KTU84L). There will of course be further updates added to the list, but if you’re after the OTA link for the Nexus 7 2013, hit the link below :
- Nexus 4 (KTU84L from KOT49H)
- Nexus 5 (KTU84M from KOT49H)
- Nexus 7 2012 Wifi (KTU84L from KOT49H)
- Nexus 7 2012 3G (KTU84L from KOT49H)
- Nexus 7 2013 Wifi (KTU84L from KOT49H)
- Nexus 7 2013 LTE
- Nexus 10 (KTU84L from KOT49H)
And here’s some instructions on how to update using an OTA zip :
ADB Sideload
- You’ll need to download and install the Android SDK or have the ADB.exe on your PC. You can download the Android SDK here.
- Turn USB Debugging in Settings > Developer Options > USB debugging.
- Connect the phone to your PC through USB and make sure it’s connected. Easiest way to test it’s working is by running the command ‘adb devices’ if it’s connected you’ll see the serial # of the device followed by Device – Something like : ‘022c732d8a4cca82 device’
- Download the update.zip from Google from the links below to your PC for your particular Nexus – Note: At this point, I tend to rename the downloaded file to something easy to type like Nexus7 KOT49H Update.zip
- Move the downloaded zip file into your ‘Platform-Tools’ folder.
- Enter this command ‘adb reboot bootloader’ and your phone will reboot into the bootloader.
- Press the Volume buttons on your device until you see ‘Recovery’ and use the Power button to select.
- Next your device will boot to a screen with an Android logo with an exclamation mark on it.
- Press Volume Up and Power at the same time to get into stock recovery.
- Using the volume buttons, scroll to ‘apply update from ADB’ and then press the Power button to choose it.
- On your PC in the command prompt window, type ‘adb sideload update.zip’.
- If everything goes according to plan, you should see the file transfer across and your device will start to update.
- Once that finishes, your device will begin to update.
- That should be it, once it completes you should be able to reboot and go from there.
If you don’t want to manually install it or are running another Nexus device then you are going to have to wait a short while, but never mind, you will get it eventually and according to ex-AOSP Guru Jean-Baptiste Quéru there are reasons why you shouldn’t force the update.
Android 4.4.3 has completely broken Bluetooth on my 2013 Nexus 7. I’m not kidding. I actually barely suffered any Bluetooth issues prior to the update and often wondered what people were complaining about.
I now get regular skips and stutters and I’m also experiencing more drop outs than I used to. It’s really bad and extremely disappointing. I’ll be holding off updating my Nexus 5.

Might want to check the hyperlink for the Nexus 5 file, guys. It has a %20 in front of it and doesn’t work.
Just a heads up. 😀
Just finished side loading the ota. Will be interesting to see if the the random reboots do stop.
