Android 5.1.1 API Level 22
Has your Nexus device received its update to Android 5.1? Good, get ready for a maintenance release. It appears that Google has a maintenance release for Android 5.1 ready to roll, with Android 5.1.1 showing up in the Android SDK manager.

The API level remains the same – API Level 22 – but updates to Revision 2. The update is present to update in your Android Studio if you’re a developer and while there’s no information in the description, it’s most likely in the testing phase by Googlers at the moment.
Android 5.1.1 in Android SDK

As Android Police point out, the revision was added on April 1st so it’s possible this is a subtle troll by Google – but it’s a subtle troll with 63MB worth of updates you can install so we’ll have to wait and see.

Update: We’ve checked our logs and turns out that we’ve seen at least a Nexus 6 rocking Android 5.1.1 (Build LMY47T) hitting the servers. Looks like it’s legit.

Still not had the 5.1 update to Nexus 7 2013, so maybe this will be the one?

(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ or the nexus 4…. still waiting!

Hopefully this will finally fix lollipops crappy performance on the nexus 5

Try resetting your nexus 5 to factory defaults and disabling phone encryption, this fixed my nexus 5 android 5/5.1 performance problems.

phone encryption on the n5 has always been turned off be default…….

5.1 on the nexus 5 is good….. much better than any of the other 5.0x releases.

I agree that 5.1 is better than other 5.0x releases it still shows down a lot after about 3 days of use. I’ll stick with kit kat for now. I also don’t feel like I’m missing anything from lollipop

Did you do a factory reset after upgrading to 5.0? If not, its half the reason why you’re experiencing crappy performance. I cannot recommend it enough and did it after I upgraded to Lollipop. I’ve now upgraded it to 5.1 (without doing a factory reset) and the update resolved a lot of the memory leak issues that 5.0 and 5.0.1 had with it.
