Good news owners of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, your Nougat update is almost ready.
In their latest Software Update blog, Vodafone Australia has advised that the Android N update for the phones is now in testing. The extent of the testing for the update and when it will be released hasn’t been announced, but it’s coming.
We saw in November some indication of what the Nougat update for Samsung phones will look like, with the Nougat interface really shining through the usual Samsung UX. As well as the leaked UX, that leak also contained features which includes a blue light filter for night time viewing as well as an always-on display, both features brought over from the now ended Galaxy Note 7.
With no Note 7 in play, it seems the S7/S7 Edge is going to get all the attention this year for software updates, hopefully this one goes through testing quickly. We’ll be keeping our Galaxy S7/S7 Edge ready and waiting for this update, so stay tuned for more info.
Hopefully not long now for XSA….
Does anyone have any ideas of how long the rollout typically takes from the start of testing? Weeks? Months? This is exciting news!!
