For those gamers who never owned a Nintendo DS or Playstation Portable, your chance to play GTA: Chinatown Wars has arrived, with Rockstar Games releasing the game for Android overnight to Google Play and the Amazon app store.
Hopefully you’ve been saving your Google Opinion Rewards dollars, because the game clocks in at AU$6.49 but it promises hours of fun for those who purchase it. The game has been updated with new highly customizable touchscreen controls, as well as physical controller support and high resolution widescreen display ‘on supported devices’. Android TV is also supported, so for those with a Nexus Player, prepare for some fun.
Story wise the game description sounds familiar to anyone who has played the games in the franchise:
Following his father’s murder, Huang Lee has a simple mission: deliver an ancient sword to his Uncle Kenny to ensure his family retains control of the Triad gangs of Liberty City. Huang is a spoiled rich kid who expects everything to run smoothly, but his trip does not go exactly as planned. After being robbed and left to die, he will search for honor, riches and revenge in the most dangerous and morally bankrupt city in the world.
It’s a cell-shaded graphics style, as opposed to their more ‘realistic’ style of graphics shown in other games. But it also looks to be just as fun as all the other titles in the Rockstar GTA franchise. If you’re a Grand Theft Auto fan (and who isn’t?), then head over to Google Play now and download it now.
